AI answers for West Palm Beach electricians

By Steven Allbright · October 14, 2026

On 24 September 2026 we asked an AI assistant five buying questions about electricians in West Palm Beach, Florida, and wrote down every company each answer named. Thirteen businesses came back in total. Two appeared in all five answers. Five appeared exactly once. Nobody paid for the test and no business was told it was happening.

What was asked

Five questions, phrased the way a customer types them rather than the way a marketer picks keywords:

  • Best electrician in West Palm Beach, FL
  • Emergency electrician in West Palm Beach, FL
  • Most trusted electrician in West Palm Beach, FL
  • Best-reviewed electrician in West Palm Beach, FL
  • Who should I call for electrician in West Palm Beach, FL

How often was each business named?

Thirteen businesses were named across the five answers. The distribution is the part worth reading twice.

Why does being named twice matter more than ranking fourth?

A search results page has ten positions and a second page behind it. An answer has room for two or three names and then it stops. There is no position four to improve towards, no appeal, and nothing tells a business it was left out.

Two companies here were named every time the question was asked. Five were named once, which on a different day is zero.

How many people see an answer instead of a list?

BrightLocal found 40% of consumers actively use generative AI when searching online. Ahrefs analysed 300,000 keywords and found AI Overviews correlated with a 34.5% lower average click-through rate for the top-ranking page. Pew Research found people clicked a traditional search result in only 8% of visits when a Google AI summary appeared, against nearly 15% when none did.

Position one still exists. Fewer people arrive at it.

What this test does not show

One run, one day, one city, one trade, one assistant. Answers vary between runs, so a single reading is a sample rather than a verdict. We did not record how the assistant ranked its own sources, and we are not claiming to know why any particular business was named. The full method, including what was not recorded, is published on our methodology page.

How to run this for your own category

Ask an assistant the five questions a customer in your category would ask, and write down every company named in each answer. That list is your real competition for those answers. If you would rather have it done properly, with the questions, the companies and the sources recorded, that is what our free report produces.

Questions

What did the AI name for West Palm Beach electricians?

Does this mean the businesses named are the best electricians?

No. It records what an assistant said on one day, not a judgement about any company's work. Answers vary between runs, which is why a single reading is a sample rather than a verdict.
