Answer engine optimization (AEO) is the work of changing what sources an answer engine reads about your category, and what those sources say about you.
Why an engine names others
Works on which sources an answer engine reads about your category and what those sources say about you. The deliverable should be a run: the questions, the engine’s reply, every business named. Then changes to the sources that answer is built from.
Readings, not reasons
A subscription that tracks mentions of your brand across engines and charts them. It will tell you that you are not being named. It will not tell you why, and it will not do anything about it. The right call when you want to manage your presence yourself.
AEO as a line item
Ask what they changed last month for an AEO client and what the engine said before and after. A real answer names the specific change and the shift in wording that followed. If the answer is a content calendar, you are buying SEO with a new label.
