Who does AI recommend in your industry?

To find out who AI recommends in your industry, ask an assistant the question a customer would ask — your trade and your area, never your company name — and write down every business it names. That short list is who you are really competing with for the answer. Nobody is told when they are left off it.

The five questions

Ask these exactly as a customer would say them. Use your trade and your town. Do not use your company name for the first four — that tells you something different, and it is the mistake almost everyone makes first.

1

Who should I call for your trade in your town?

The plain version of the question. Whatever it names is the default answer your market is getting.

2

Who is the best your trade near your town?

A different shape of question often returns a different list. Both are being asked.

3

I need your service urgently. Who can help?

Urgency changes the answer. This is the one that converts, and it is rarely checked.

4

Who are the top-rated your trade companies in your area?

Ratings-shaped questions lean on third-party sources rather than on your own website.

5

What do you know about your company name?

Only now use your name. Read back the trade, the town and the address. One of the three is wrong more often than owners expect.

How to read the answer

Write down every company named across all five. You are looking for three things, and none of them is your ranking.

Who appears in more than one answer. A business named once may be chance. A business named in four is the one the machine is confident about, and it is your real competitor for that question whatever you thought of them before.

Whether you appear at all. There is no position two in an answer. You are named or you are not in the conversation, and nothing notifies you either way.

What it got wrong about you, in question five. A wrong trade brings the wrong enquiries. A wrong town removes you from every local answer. An old address can merge you with a different business entirely.

Or have us run it

We run the five questions for your business and send back every company named, whether yours appeared, and the source pages behind the answers. It is free and it takes about a day.

Questions people ask

How do I find out who AI recommends in my industry?

Ask an AI assistant the question a customer would ask — your trade and your area, not your company name — and write down every business it names. Repeat it with four or five differently worded versions of the same question, because the wording changes the answer.

Why does AI recommend some businesses and not others?

An assistant assembles an answer from what it can find, read and resolve. A business with a consistent name, one clear address and pages that plainly state what it does is easy to assemble. A business whose information is scattered across old profiles is not, however good it is.

Will I be told if AI stops recommending my business?

No. There is no notification, no ranking report and no warning. The answer forms without you and nobody is told they were left out, which is why the check has to be run deliberately.

Does being number one on Google mean AI recommends me?

Not necessarily. Ranking in a list of links and being named in an answer are decided differently, and a business can hold the top search position and never appear in the answer.
